Shaw Corporation worked with Crest Nicholson London and Addition Land to secure detailed planning consent for a major mixed use London Bridge site
Shaw Corporation has been working with Crest Nicholson London, Addition Land and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Southwark to create an exciting new mixed use development close to London Bridge station in the heart of Bermondsey Village, London SE1.
Based around a central courtyard with frontages to Snowsfields, Melior Street and Weston Street, Shaw Corporation has assisted in the strategic planning process and collating the several joint venture partners to deliver a scheme producing:
- 37 apartments including onsite affordable housing
- 4,117sq ft (382.44 sqm) of mixed A1/A3 retail and B1 offices
- A new bespoke facility for local charity, the Manna Centre
The scheme design by architects Flanagan Lawrence stitches the sympathetic scheme proposals into the Bermondsey Village Conservation Area fabric to help regenerate a former, largely vacant, semi-derelict Victorian school property.
Detailed planning consent was secured in March 2014. Development has commenced on site and the scheme will be ready to receive its first occupants in 2017.
Shaw Corporation has worked closely with planning consultants DP9, architects Flanagan Lawrence, valuers Montagu Evans and conservation consultant Kevin Murphy to deliver this unique and vibrant scheme.
Addition Land has worked successfully with the Diocese and their advisers to deliver projects at London Bridge and Battersea helping provide significant community benefits out of development projects as part of a balanced development outcome.
